Fallen Ever After Ever After Series Book 2
A.C. James
Genre: Steamy Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Wandering Impulse Press

He can’t lose her…

Arie Cush wanted Holly from the very first moment he met her. A night at the Hellfire Club (HFC) is filled with old friends and new danger. The long-standing feud between the faeries that run the Chicago Crew and a lethal toxin puts Holly and other fledgling vampires in danger. Can they stop a vampire-fae war that’s been brewing for nearly a century?

When danger strikes again
Holly Ellis is still adjusting to their relationship and her new supernatural gifts. She never figured on another battle and she certainly didn’t count on a war. Despite the synthetic threat that could hurt their kind, Holly has been waiting for answers her entire life. She finally gets them when her godmother helps her discover even more about the family she never knew. But is there more to Arie’s past? And who exactly is the mysterious T anyway?

“Brimming with emotion and sensuality, it’ll keep you up far too late reading and craving her next book.”

Excerpt:

NOTE: The sneak peek below is a very early look at a scene from Fallen Ever After prior to copy/line edits.

Worry reflected in her eyes. She wore a purple shirt with a silver swirling pattern, her blonde curls darting out in various directions and again her ethereal face was unmarred despite that she’d just turned forty, she reminded me of a well-preserved Madonna. Her silver bracelets jingled as she grabbed her purse from under a counter.
“Of course but are you ready?”
I gulped. “I think so.”
She nodded but I was sure she could tell I was lying. I didn’t know what to think or expect. I only knew that I shouldn’t get my hopes up and I should keep my expectations low. My grandmother might not want to get to know me, might not want anything to do with me after all this time. If she’d wanted to know me, if she’d wanted me at all then she would have taken me in but I figured her grief over losing a daughter made her incapable of loving the child that had stolen hers.
“Let’s go,” I said. “We can take my car.”
Rue turned to the cashier and placed a key on top of the glass case. “If I’m not back, can you close up for me?”
“Sure. No problem.”
She turned and followed me toward the front of the shop. The bell chimed again as we exited and made our way over to my BMW. Rue slid into the passenger seat while I rounded the front of the car and took the wheel. We drove a few blocks and I tapped the side of the steering wheel at a stop light. I sighed. It would be a long three hour drive. Rue told me that my grandmother lived out by Lake Springfield. The light turned green and I accidentally burned rubber when I hit the gas and pulled onto a highway heading out of the city toward Springfield. Rue looked over, her concern for me clear in her expression.
“Whatever happens is meant to be,” Rue said.
I glanced at her. The concern was quickly replaced by a serene look that almost seemed too calm considering the occasion but then again that was Rue. She returned her attention to the highway.
“Try to relax. Watch the road. There’s no sense in worrying about what might happen,” she said, trying to reassure me.
“I know. It’s just…”
“You’re nervous.”
“Yeah.”
“That’s to be expected.”
“I know that but what if she slams the door in my face?”
My voice almost broke.
“She won’t.”
“How do you know? What did she say when you called her?”
Rue paused and looked out the window again before turning back to me.
“Nothing.”
“What do you mean nothing? You told her that her granddaughter who she’s never met wants to meet her and she said nothing.”
I could hear my voice rising as panic surged and I considered pulling the car over.
“I couldn’t reach her.”
“So she’s not expecting us. Wouldn’t it be better to wait until she calls you back rather than us just showing up on her doorstep? You left a message, didn’t you? I don’t want to do this. This is a bad idea. Not if she doesn’t know we’re coming.”
I was shaking my head, my hands clenching the steering wheel.
“It doesn’t matter when we go. She won’t know we’re coming. Her number was disconnected and she’s not listed in the phone book.”
What?
“This is a waste of time.”
I didn’t mean to sound bitter. I needed answers and her number being disconnected made me feel deflated. Numbers don’t get disconnected without a reason. What if she moved? But really I was afraid that it was too
Late. What if she’s dead? I’d never get the chance to meet her and I’d never know why she never tried to be a part of my life.
“Then how do we even know that she’s still alive?”
“She’s alive.”
Rue said it with such certainty that I felt my throat tighten but I didn’t want to get my hopes up. I couldn’t get my hopes up.
“How can you be so sure?”
“Your grandmother gave me a book a long time ago. It used to be hers. I used it to do a locator spell and the pendulum circled around the location of her house on a map. The same house your mother and I played in as children. She’s still there.”
It’s not that I didn’t believe in magic but you could never count on it to be entirely accurate. No, I’d found that magic could be just an unpredictable as everything else. I wouldn’t let her conviction give me false hope and be crushed when it turned out it wasn’t true. But I didn’t want to sound like a cynical, bitter unbeliever.
I loosened my grip on the steering wheel. “Well, I guess there’s only one way to find out.”
Rue put her hand on my shoulder. “You’ve come this far. I’ll be here every step of the way. It’s going to be okay. I promise.”
She released my shoulder and we drove in relative silence until we reached Lake Springfield. Occasionally, Rue would break the silence to take my mind off it but it didn’t really work. As we circled around the lake and I saw the houses my jaw clenched and my teeth ground together. I had no idea how much the houses cost but I could tell from the looks of it that it was a lot. The further we drove and the closer we got, the angrier I became.
If she lived in a community like this that meant she had to have money. She definitely had the financial means to take care of me. I hadn’t even met her yet but the big houses with their swimming pools and manicured lawns pissed me off. We turned onto North Cotton Hill Road and passed a long driveway that led to a house on the edge of the lake. The area was wooded and we passed the back of a cookie-cutter development.
“Slow down and turn,” Rue said, as she pointed.
I’d almost driven past a dirt road that seemed incongruent with everything else. I slammed on the breaks and almost had to back up but I cut the wheel to the left and headed down the unpaved trail. The space went from being wide open to being edged by trees that became thicker the further we went until we passed under power lines and reached an old two story house.
“We’re here,” Rue said.

About the Author:
I’m Mj O’Shea, author of erotic romance–well all sorts of romance actually, that’s just what’s been published so far!
I grew up, and still live, in sunny Washington state and while I love to visit other places, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home.
I spent my childhood writing stories. Sometime in my early teens, the stories turned to romance. Most of those were about me, my friends, and our favorite tv stars. Hopefully, I’ve come a long way since then…
Right now, I have four books published through Republica Press (click on the link to visit their site), but I’m constantly working on new projects.
When I’m not writing, I love to play the piano and cook and paint pictures…and of course read. It’s nearly impossible to work on my own writing when I’ve gotten myself hooked into a great new book:) I like sparkly girly girl things, own at least twenty different colored headbands, and I have a little white dog with a ginger eye spot who sits with me when I write. Sometimes she comes up with ideas for me too…when she’s not napping.

Brody O’Shea isn't looking for much, just a hot guy with a decent job, who is sane and doesn’t have kids. The son of a former rock star, Brody has lived through the pain of bankruptcy and bad parenting, and he doesn't want to experience it again. As a reformed horndog, he wants the security and stability of a relationship. But almost every guy he meets seems satisfied with Mr. Right Now, and he wants to find Mr. Right—now!

The only men Eric Vasquez chases are criminals. As a deputy and single father, he has no need for a relationship after his last one ended disastrously. He lives for and through Maddie, his nine-year-old daughter. Everything else is a needless distraction, but distraction is what Eric gets when he comes to Provincetown to attend the wedding between his cousin Van and the man of his dreams.

When Brody and Eric meet, what they want and what they find conflict. An ocean of expectations separates them. If they cannot move past their reservations to reach each other’s shores, they might miss the boat when love comes to town.

Excerpt:
Brody closely scrutinized the passengers as they exited the ferry. Perhaps one of the men who now scurried down the ramp might be the man of his dreams. Stranger things had happened. It was Provincetown after all. If someone like Nino Santos could find love, why couldn’t he?
Nino wasn’t exactly the kind of guy who partnered up. He’d always been the fuck-’em-and-leave-’em type. That was how they’d met last year. As a trick. Yet somehow Nino—with his model-perfect body, asshole attitude, and vain, self-absorbed ways—managed to find true love with Teddy, the nicest and sweetest man to ever walk this planet.
Just how the fuck did that happen? How could Nino have someone, and he be alone?
That just didn’t make any sense whatsoever.
What was he doing wrong? Not a damn thing as far as he was concerned.
He just had standards he wasn’t willing to sacrifice. For anyone. Sure, plenty of guys made exceptions. Most of his friends had. Quinn had to deal with Gary’s penchant for drag, and Gary had to put up with Quinn’s more serious approach to life. Zach looked past Van’s old porn career, and Van got over how Zach treated him. Teddy saw beyond the many awful qualities Nino possessed. As for Nino, well, he couldn’t find one bad characteristic Teddy had that Nino would have to overcome. The only negative Teddy brought with him to a relationship was his best friend Irene. Which was bad enough.
He wasn’t willing to overlook things that bothered him. Why should he? He wasn’t going to change himself for someone else and let someone else call the shots.
That wasn’t love. That was a dictatorship, and his dick wasn’t going to be ordered around by anyone. Well, except him, of course.
It was entirely within the realm of possibility that he would find someone who met his standards, a list that had grown exponentially after his encounter with Dan, and whom he wouldn’t have to change for. After all, that was the entire reason for the list. Surely, the man who met all his requirements would not only be perfect for him, but those standards would make Brody perfect for his ideal man as well.
It was a win-win situation for everyone.
Now, all he had to do was find that one perfect guy.
The group that now made its way down the pier didn’t have anyone to his liking. They were all smoking and blowing their cancer clouds all over the damn place. How could making out with an ashtray be hot? Behind the Future Cancer Patients of America strolled an attractive group of guys, but they had a little too much swish in their hips. What were they trying to do? Wash their clothes as they walked? He pictured himself with a manlier man. So they were definite no-nos.
Then he spotted a dark-skinned, ruggedly handsome man step off the metal gangway and look up and down the pier. He had a soft spot for dark skin. Especially on men with a bearded and good-looking face. And there didn’t seem to be another man with him.
This guy had definite promise.
Not only did he appear single, but he also had a thick head of black hair that wasn’t so long that it made him look grungy and wasn’t so short that he looked like a carbon copy of every other man who came to Provincetown. It was longer on the top, especially toward the front, but trimmed perfectly at the nape of the neck and on the sides. His unique hairstyle marked him as someone who was his own man, an original. He liked that.
Brody also enjoyed the way strands of hair fell in front of his eyes, which looked light in color. He couldn’t tell what hue they were from this distance, but they looked to be a mixture of yellow, gold, and copper. How much more unique could a man get?
He also wasn’t immediately lighting up a cigarette. While it didn’t automatically make him a nonsmoker, it showed promise that he wasn’t. His clothes also didn’t look dated or filthy, and he carried himself with an air of confidence. Only the gainfully employed could pull that off in his opinion. That was yet another requirement met.
And he hadn’t even talked to him yet!
All this man had to be was a sane, humble, nonwhining, childless man, and eureka! He’d have struck gold.
But in order to find that out, Brody would have to go up and talk to him. He just didn’t have the time. What if he missed Van’s cousin Eric while he was chatting up the dark-skinned hottie who might be his potential new love?
There was no reason he couldn’t do both. All he had to do was go up to the man and talk to him while he kept a watchful eye for some guy who resembled Van. He’d always been a great multitasker.
Brody began his approach, and then he noticed the small problem that ruined everything.
The guy had a kid.

Jacob Z. Flores lives a double life. During the day, he is a respected college English professor and mid-level administrator. At night and during his summer vacation, he loosens the tie and tosses aside the trendy sports coat to write man on man fiction, where the hard ass assessor of freshmen level composition turns his attention to the firm posteriors and other rigid appendages of the characters in his fictional world.

Summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts, provide Jacob with inspiration for his fiction. The abundance of barely clothed man flesh and daily debauchery stimulates his personal muse. When he isn’t stroking the keyboard, Jacob spends time with his husband, Bruce, their three children, and two dogs, who represent a bright blue blip in an otherwise predominantly red swath in south Texas.

Title:  Us Three
Author:  Mia Kerick
Publisher: Harmony Ink Press
Genre:  Young Adult

Description:
In his junior year at a public high school, sweet, bright Casey Minton’s biggest worry isn’t being gay. Keeping from being too badly bullied by his so-called friends, a group of girls called the Queen Bees, is more pressing. Nate De Marco has no friends, his tough home life having taken its toll on his reputation, but he’s determined to get through high school. Zander Zane’s story is different: he’s popular, a jock. Zander knows he’s gay, but fellow students don’t, and he’d like to keep it that way.
No one expects much when these three are grouped together for a class project, yet in the process the boys discover each other’s talents and traits, and a new bond forms. But what if Nate, Zander, and Casey fall in love—each with the other and all three together? Not only gay but also a threesome, for them high school becomes infinitely more complicated and maybe even dangerous. To survive and keep their love alive, they must find their individual strengths and courage and stand together, honest and united. If they can do that, they might prevail against the Queen Bees and a student body frightened into silence—and even against their own crippling fears.

About the Author:
Mia Kerick is the mother of four exceptional children—all named after saints—and five nonpedigreed cats—all named after the next best thing to saints, Boston Red Sox players. Her husband of twenty years has been told by many that he has the patience of Job, but don’t ask Mia about that, as it is a sensitive subject.
Mia focuses her stories on the emotional growth of troubled men and their relationships, and she believes that sex has a place in a love story, but not until it is firmly established as a love story. As a teen, Mia filled spiral-bound notebooks with romantic tales of tortured heroes (most of whom happened to strongly resemble lead vocalists of 1980s big-hair bands) and stuffed them under her mattress for safekeeping. She is thankful to Dreamspinner Press for providing her with an alternate place to stash her stories.
Mia is proud of her involvement with the Human Rights Campaign and cheers for each and every victory made in the name of marital equality. Her only major regret: never having taken typing or computer class in school, destining her to a life consumed with two-fingered pecking and constant prayer to the Gods of Technology.
My themes I always write about:
Sweetness. Unconventional love, tortured/damaged heroes- only love can save them.

Title and Synopsis created by the LaSalle Sister of Man2Mantastic

Excerpt:
“I want to talk to you now.”
“You can’t always get what you want, Leonidis,” God rebutted.
“I want you,” Day said with no hesitation.
The room was deathly silent. After a few long seconds God responded simply, “No you don’t.”
“I do. Isn’t it obvious?” Day moved a little closer.
“You don’t know what the fuck you want. I’ve watched you for four years, jumping from bed to bed and fucking your way through half of Atlanta. I have one emotional night and all of a sudden you want me…fuck you,” God said in his gruffest voice.
Day’s body heated instantly at the sound. He moved even closer to where God was standing on the opposite side of the table.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize I was supposed to be saving myself for marriage, and even more so, I didn’t realize you were a goddamn virgin. How many women have I seen you fuck in that pussy-getting truck of yours, huh?” Day lowered his voice as he stood directly in front of God. “Just tell me you didn’t feel what I did last night.” He closed the small gap, not minding God’s height at all, and looked up into electric-green eyes. “Tell me you don’t want me too, and I’ll back the fuck off.”
God looked down at him and Day could see the uncertainty all over that ruggedly handsome face.
“Shit’s complicated, Leo.” God’s breath ghosted across his forehead.
“Make me understand, Cashel,” Day whispered and slowly brought his hands up to rest on God’s waist.
“What makes you think I’m gay or bi?” God asked avoiding Day’s request.
“Really? Maybe it’s this that makes me think that.” Day boldly palmed and squeezed God’s rock-hard erection.
Day groaned. He held on tight while God hoisted him up against the wall and attacked his mouth. It wasn’t pretty or gentle. His partner kissed him with a fury that he hadn’t felt in years. It was erotically carnal, wicked, and Day loved every second. His feet dangled as God’s bulk pushed hard against him, keeping him immobile and under his control.
“This what you want, you sexy fucker?” God snarled in his ear, then leaned in and bit the juncture of his neck that met with his shoulder.
“Ugh, yes! I want you goddammit,” Day hissed into the darkness.
“Prove it.” God released him and Day dropped back to the ground. He immediately felt the loss of God’s heat and had to resist the urge to claw at the man.
Day palmed his own hard erection.
“Seriously. This isn’t fucking proof enough?” he said while seductively squeezing his cock and licking his red lips now full and plump from their kiss.
“I don’t give a damn about your wood. You get a hard-on when you drink coffee, Leo.” God grabbed his coat and headed to the door. “If you want it, you’ll have to earn it.”
Day stalked over to him. “Did you make all those other bitches you fucked earn it first?” Day fumed. Not liking that God was thinking of playing a come-and-get-it game with him.
God spun around fast and gripped Day around his throat, pulling him into his rock-hard chest. Day hit that solid wall of muscles with a thud and the air rushed out of his lungs. Day put both his hands on God’s huge forearms that flexed against his touch. God bent his head and a few strands of his hair came loose from the elastic band and brushed against the side of Day’s face.
God looked and smelled so fucking delicious, like masculinity and aftershave. Day knew the grip on his neck was not to hurt him, it was to show him who was in charge. His sheer strength and power had Day feeling like he could come right there in the small conference room.
“Oh, so you want to be my bitch?” God’s mouth was at the base of his ear. He roughly ground his pelvis into Day’s stomach while the other hand got a firm grip in his hair at the back of his head. “Why didn’t you just say so? You want me to have you face down and ass up in my truck? Then we can go do that right fucking now.”
God loosened his grip on Day’s hair and let the large hand around his throat turn into a gentle caress. He smoothed down Day’s hair and leaned in and took a large sniff before nuzzling the side of his face. Day couldn’t have stopped the unmanly whimper if he’d tried. God dragged two fingers down his throat and gently stroked his collarbone. His breathing was now even and calm, surprisingly relaxing Day as well.
God kissed Day’s temple before speaking in a seductive whisper against the side of his face. “Or do you want me to put on one of your jazz records and lay your sexy body down on your bed and slowly lick you from head to toe?” God ran a thumb over Day’s parted lips.
“So tell me…which one do you want?”
Day had to figure out how to speak again before he was finally able to reply. “Yes, Cashel. I want you in my bed.”
“Then prove it.” God laid a lingering, gentle kiss on his forehead before stepping back from him and leaving the conference room.
